Today I wanted to tell you about Bright One, a communications agency that’s not like the others. This UK-based team puts its skills and experience to work for charities, NGOs, and any organization with a social mission.
The idea is to help these groups by offering professional-quality services—at affordable rates. We’re talking media relations, copywriting, monitoring, social media and blogger campaigns, internal comms, events—you name it.
We aim to deliver high quality communications for charities, non-profit organizations and social enterprises, and in turn help them to reach those they are trying to help. We do this by developing the communications experience and expertise of volunteers who are driven by the social potential of their work, by providing training and support, and providing access to a valuable network of communications professionals. Bright One also provides a link between charities and non-profits, between communications students and volunteers, and between industry companies and professionals, providing an understanding of the role that each plays in relation to each other.
I really love the idea of using your skills and experience for something meaningful (read: non-commercial). The Bright One team works with volunteers. So if you’re a comms pro, a student, or a recent grad, and you’re up for it—go join them!
